Laser Hair Removal
By Samantha James
Laser Hair Removal Laser hair removal is one popular and well known procedure for removing unwanted hair. If you don't know much about it I think the best explanation is that the Laser emits an exact wavelength of light, which pass through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment/melanin in the hair shaft and follicle. The Light energy turns into heat energy (photothermolysis)and heats the follicle and damages the cells that produce hair. I believe that laser for hair removal is a truly effective treatment because it provides a long term solution. I think the incredible popularity of permanent laser hair reduction, is somewhat testament to the success of this hair removal procedure. Over the years I've pretty much tried every possible option for temporary hair removal, sticking mostly with shaving and waxing. I even had a go at some other temporary solutions - such as removing body hair by plucking, radio frequency tweezers, electronic tweezers, electrolysis and depilatory creams. However I think the wide acceptance of the benefits of Laser procedures by dermatologists is a clear indication of the value of this option. Generally laser hair treatment is now regarded as one of the safest methods of hair removal and helps reduce body hair growth and ingrowns considerably. Electrolysis is another method of hair removal that is useful for smaller areas involving lesser hair. Essentially this method requires the insertion of a needle into every hair follicle one after the other and an electric spark burns the hair follicles. This method may be effective, but it can be extremely painful and even cause scaring– and not something I would recommend to anyone! Laser Hair removal only feels like a short warm sting – which passes quickly and is far less invasive than the brutal method of electrolysis. Laser hair treatment is used not only by women but also by men wanting to remove unwanted hair from different body parts. Laser hair removal can be used for removing unwanted hair from the lips, chin, shoulders, ear lobes, back, abdomen, underarms, pubic area, buttocks, thighs, bikini lines, chest, hands, toes, arms and legs. In fact there isn't much you can't cover with laser hair removal, even facial hair can be removed with the help of laser beams. I personally think that the option to get laser hair removal is convenient and hassle free, which is why it's has earned such recognition. Laser hair treatments are not only easy but also far less time consuming, which is a great advantage in my eyes. This hair removal method takes a whole lot less time and even treating larger skin areas with laser is much more practical and cost-effective when compared to the alternatives. I think for long term results effective Laser hair removal is truly the best way to go. |
